Hand Rankings

Texas Hold'em use the following hand rankings to determine the strength of poker hands and each hand must use 5 cards. The following hands are ranked from top to bottom, strongest to weakest.
 

Royal Flush: an Ace high straight all of the same suit.

Straight Flush: a straight all in the same suit.

Four of a kind (quads): all four cards of the same rank - in this case its four Jacks.

Full House: three cards of one rank and 2 cards of another rank - in this case nine's and five's.

 

Flush: 5 cards of all the same suit that are not in sequence.

 

Straight: 5 cards in sequence but of different suits.

 

Three of a kind: 3 cards of the same rank - in the case Queen's.

 

Two Pairs: 2 cards of the same rank with another 2 cards of another rank - in the case we have a pair of Ten's with a pair of Eight's.

 

One Pair: 2 cards of the same rank - in this case we have a pair of King's.

 

High Card:When the 5 cards are not of the same suit, in sequence or have any matching ranks then the highest card plays - in the case we are showing a King high hand.
